Mechanical Insulator Job Description

Job Responsibilities
- Install insulation materials on mechanical equipment, piping systems, ductwork, and other components according to project specifications and industry standards.
- Measure, cut, and shape insulation materials such as fiberglass, foam, and elastomeric products to fit specific requirements.
- Apply insulation materials using various techniques, including taping, stapling, welding, or adhesives, to ensure a secure and durable installation.
- Inspect existing insulation for damages, wear, or moisture accumulation and perform repairs or replacements as needed.
- Collaborate with project teams, including engineers and contractors, to determine insulation requirements and provide input on best practices and cost-effective solutions.
- Comply with safety protocols and regulations, including the proper handling and disposal of insulation materials, to maintain a safe work environment.
- Maintain accurate records of work performed, materials used, and project progress.
Requirements
- Clean legal record
- Valid Driver’s License
- Proven experience as a Mechanical Insulator or similar position (preferred)
- High school diploma or equivalent; relevant technical certifications or vocational training in insulation or related field (preferred)
- Familiarity with insulation codes, regulations, and industry standards (preferred)
- Ability to read and interpret blueprints, specifications, and technical drawings (preferred)
- Proficiency in using insulation tools and equipment, such as knives, saws, tape measures, and thermal imaging devices (preferred)
- Excellent teamwork and communication skills (English-speaking preferred)
